20th February 2025 - The Great Grid Upgrade
Since our development consent application for the Bramford to Twinstead Reinforcement was granted in September 2024, we have been carrying out works to prepare for construction to take place along the project route.
As part of these preparatory works, we will need to undertake vegetation clearance along part of the A134, where a main site construction compound is planned.
To ensure the safety of our team while these works are taking place, traffic management measures will be in place from 09:30 to 15:00 between 26 and 28 February 2025.
This work will be carried out by Balfour Beatty, on behalf of National Grid.
During this period, temporary two-way traffic signals will be in operation on a 62-metre section of the A134 between the junctions with the B1068 and Marshalls Green (What3Words: offstage.strikers.sides), to facilitate a closure of the northbound side of the road. The traffic signals will be operated manually.
Further information on the location of the works can be found in the works map below:
We know our work may cause some disruption to journeys and we apologise for any inconvenience. We will be working with our contractor Balfour Beatty to keep traffic moving as best we can and to complete our work as quickly as possible.
Survey activity is also scheduled to take place in the local area over the coming weeks, this includes noise monitoring and water monitoring surveys.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
