1st April 2025 - North Wessex Downs VIP news
From April 2025, two public rights of way that cross our construction site will be temporarily closed until further notice as the North Wessex Downs VIP project reaches a critical phase in construction work.
The temporary closures of the public rights of way, DEVI36 and DEVI63, have been agreed with Wiltshire Council.
With the installation of the new underground cables taking place across our site, temporarily closing these public rights of way is necessary for the safety of our teams and members of the public at this key stage in construction for the North Wessex Downs VIP project.
In both instances the footpaths will be closed from their respective junctions with Conscience Lane. DEVI36, which forms part of the White Horse Way, will be closed for approximately 320m in a northerly direction, and DEVI63 will be closed for approximately 305m in a north westerly direction.
The closures to the public rights of way will be clearly signposted at the points where they are shut and along key parts of the route. During this time all users of these public rights of way are encouraged to use the alternative nearby routes.
We appreciate the patience and cooperation of the local community as we undertake this work on the North Wessex Downs VIP project and we apologise to our neighbours for any inconvenience caused.
If you have any questions about the public rights of way closures or any matter relating to the project, please do not hesitate to contact the North Wessex Downs VIP project team.
You can do this by emailing us at [email protected] or calling 0330 134 0051 between 9.00am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. If we are unable to answer your call, please leave a message and one of our team will call you back.
