Local businesses interested in the supply chain opportunities being unlocked by National Grid’s Eryri Visual Impact Provision (VIP) project, are being invited to attend a Meet the Buyer event being organised by the scheme’s lead contractor, Hochtief UK.
Work is now underway on the project which aims to reduce the visual impact of National Grid’s overhead line across the Dwyryd Estuary from Minffordd to Llandecwyn. Ten pylons and around three kilometres of overhead electricity line that cross the estuary will be replaced with cables buried in a tunnel deep underground.
To help businesses find out more about the wide range of opportunities on offer to potential supply chain partners working across North Wales, Hochtief UK will hold its Meet the Buyer event at the Memorial Hall in Penrhyndeudraeth on Tuesday 6 June from 9.30am to 1.30pm.
For those unable to attend in person, there will also be an opportunity to meet virtually with members of the team through online sessions. People looking for individual employment opportunities are also welcome to sign up and attend to discover the types of job that will become available as the project progresses.
There will be lots of different types of work and requests for services available, from catering, laundry and cleaning, to construction, electrical, carpentry and plumbing services, as well as accommodation and taxi/bus services and more.
