Connecting T-pylons to the existing network

Our contractors, Morrisons Energy and Balfour Beatty are carrying out work to connect the new T-pylons from Bridgwater to the existing Hinkley to Bridgwater overhead line. 

The main works require the installation and removal of temporary masts, the removal of two existing pylons, and the installation of two new 400,000 volt lattice pylons. As part of these works, one of the electric circuits must pass under the new overhead line and this is being done using underground cables. These underground cables have now been successfully commissioned and are ready for energisation later this year.
