Chief Information and Digital Officer

 

Career: Talvis leads National Grid’s IT and digital strategy, cyber-security, data and global IT infrastructure and operations functions. He previously served as Chief Information Officer at Baxter International, an American multinational healthcare company. Prior to that he held several executive and management positions at Cardinal Health, TD Bank Group, Ford Motor Company, Oracle Corporation and Quaker Oats Company, a division of PepsiCo.

Skills and Competencies: Talvis is passionate about creating agile, customer-centric and diverse teams that deliver digital innovation and drive growth. Throughout his career, he has led several strategic business transformations that have significantly improved business results and customer outcomes. He has a particular focus on enabling businesses to harness the power of data and digital to improve operational effectiveness, create new business models and improve employee and customer experiences.  Talvis is a strong advocate of social responsibility and inclusion, having served as a board member of several non-profit organizations. He has also served on the public boards of Duck Creek Technologies and Poly.

Talvis is a veteran of the United States Air Force and has earned degrees in Technology Management and Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland. He has a master's degree in business administration from Michigan State University and completed Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program and graduate studies at the University of Chicago.
