Hamper Christmas for Age Concern and Bath Place Community Centre

22/12/2009

Generous National Grid employees, from the company’s headquarters at Warwick, have supported Age Concern Coventry and Bath Place Community Venture through the Business in the Community ‘Secret Santa 09’ campaign this year.

The employees assembled more than 50 food hampers, toiletry packs and toys which they delivered to the two charities in time for distribution to needy clients before Christmas.

Claire McCamley, Age Concern Volunteer and Befriending Development Officer
said: “We have been quite overwhelmed by the generosity of National Grid staff in the amount, quality and the beautifully wrapped hampers we have received.”

Toni Dodd, Commercial Officer at National Grid who co-ordinated the appeal, said:  “This is the fifth year that National Grid employees have enthusiastically supported this appeal.  It is such an easy way to give and our employees know how much the hampers mean to the recipients.”
