Bishops Wood Centre at Crossway Green, near Stourport-on-Severn in Worcestershire, is inviting the public to come along and try their hand at drawing with their feet next month when the centre plays host to The Big Draw.
On Saturday, October 17 the environmental education centre, which lies in the grounds of the National Grid substation at Crossway Green, will hold the annual event which encourages people to get involved in art and start drawing.
Amongst the activities on offer, visitors will be able to draw the stars, with their hands or their feet, create textile creatures, carve a giant Galapagos tortoise, make sky-scapes with Lego and explore the world of microscopic animals.
John Rhymer, head of the centre, said: “The Big Draw is a hugely popular and enjoyable event which gives people the opportunity to create their own work of art. If visitors don’t want to draw they can make something with textiles or some of the natural things around them. They will find a great deal of inspiration in these beautiful woodlands.”
The event starts at 11am and ends at 3pm. Entry costs £3 for adults and £1 for children.
Bishops Wood Centre is set in 70 acres of ancient woodland and meadows in the grounds of the National Grid substation just off the A449 at Crossway Green. The centre’s award winning building was designed as a model of good practice for ‘green’ architecture.
