Generous National Grid employees, from the company’s headquarters in Warwick, have donated food stuff, toys and toiletries worth more than £1,275, as part of this year’s Business in the Community ‘Cares at Christmas’ campaign.

More than 55 food hampers, 30 toiletry packs and toys were delivered on Thursday 18 December to Age Concern Coventry and Bath Place Community Venture in Leamington.  The local charities then distributed the gifts to their clients to enjoy over the Christmas period.

Steve Bayliss, Director of Bath Place Community Venture, said: “Yet again the employees at National Grid have given generously.  They can be sure that their donations will be going to our most needy and deserving clients at this festive time.”

Trish Handsley, Community Relations Officer, said:  “This is the fourth year that National Grid employees have enthusiastically supported the Cares at Christmas appeal.  It is such an easy way to give and our employees always rise to the challenge knowing how much the hampers mean to the recipients.”

Cares at Christmas
