Salary:  £34,000 - £37,500

Job Purpose:

An exciting opportunity: Terminal (Maintenance) Technicians - carry out on-site plant maintenance for all equipment associated with the LNG importation Terminal.

Terminal Technicians – Mechanical, focus on the maintenance and repair of mechanical plant and equipment.

Experience, Skills & Aptitudes Required:

  • Customer orientation and strong inter personal skills 
  • A comprehensive and detailed understanding of gas installation plant and process machinery.
  • Good understanding of safety & legislative procedures and requirements relating to Petro-chemical plants.
  • Aptitude for team working and harmonious working between all staff, (across and between shift and day workers)

Good knowledge and understanding of:

  • High Pressure Pumps.
  • Reciprocating Gas Compressors.
  • Diesel Generators.
  • Steam Raising Plant
  • High Pressure Pipe work Systems
  • Cryogenic plant and equipment
  • Marine load arms
  • Hydraulic Systems
  • Relief Valve Testing
  • Work shop machinery
  • Welding and fabrication.
  • Purchasing and commercial procedures.

Qualifications Required:

Educated to minimum of ONC or equivalent skills, competency and capability may be considered.

A valid UK/EEA current driving licence and own transport – due to the remote location of Grain LNG.

 Job Dimensions:

  • Asset value of current installation £120 million+. A further £355m investment in progress.
  • Maintenance Technicians supervise works of up to 5 contract personnel.

 Main Interfaces:

  • Technicians – Maintenance (within and across disciplines).
  • Technicians – Operating (shift).
  • External suppliers and contractors.
  • Engineers

 Key Tasks:

  • Maintain all equipment associated with the LNG importation terminal. (Planned; defect; projects activities).
  • Complete maintenance on all equipment on the installation to ensure compliance with LNG Maintenance policy.
  • Ensure full and detailed records are maintained on plant operation and maintenance.
  • Ensure availability of all safety critical systems
  • Contribute to projects, investigations and audits (internal and external to the site)
  • Work with and supervise contract personnel under taking project works.
  • Will carry out and complete work unsupervised and in potentially remote locations (within site boundary).
  • Where required the Technician (maintenance) will participate in call out rota for ship connection / disconnection and emergency call out.
