Salary: £34,000 - £37,500
Job Purpose:
An exciting opportunity: Terminal (Maintenance) Technicians - carry out on-site plant maintenance for all equipment associated with the LNG importation Terminal.
Terminal Technicians – Mechanical, focus on the maintenance and repair of mechanical plant and equipment.
Experience, Skills & Aptitudes Required:
- Customer orientation and strong inter personal skills
- A comprehensive and detailed understanding of gas installation plant and process machinery.
- Good understanding of safety & legislative procedures and requirements relating to Petro-chemical plants.
- Aptitude for team working and harmonious working between all staff, (across and between shift and day workers)
Good knowledge and understanding of:
- High Pressure Pumps.
- Reciprocating Gas Compressors.
- Diesel Generators.
- Steam Raising Plant
- High Pressure Pipe work Systems
- Cryogenic plant and equipment
- Marine load arms
- Hydraulic Systems
- Relief Valve Testing
- Work shop machinery
- Welding and fabrication.
- Purchasing and commercial procedures.
Qualifications Required:
Educated to minimum of ONC or equivalent skills, competency and capability may be considered.
A valid UK/EEA current driving licence and own transport – due to the remote location of Grain LNG.
Job Dimensions:
- Asset value of current installation £120 million+. A further £355m investment in progress.
- Maintenance Technicians supervise works of up to 5 contract personnel.
Main Interfaces:
- Technicians – Maintenance (within and across disciplines).
- Technicians – Operating (shift).
- External suppliers and contractors.
- Engineers
Key Tasks:
- Maintain all equipment associated with the LNG importation terminal. (Planned; defect; projects activities).
- Complete maintenance on all equipment on the installation to ensure compliance with LNG Maintenance policy.
- Ensure full and detailed records are maintained on plant operation and maintenance.
- Ensure availability of all safety critical systems
- Contribute to projects, investigations and audits (internal and external to the site)
- Work with and supervise contract personnel under taking project works.
- Will carry out and complete work unsupervised and in potentially remote locations (within site boundary).
- Where required the Technician (maintenance) will participate in call out rota for ship connection / disconnection and emergency call out.
