Service alteration - to move my gas meter, and/or make changes to the service pipe route, length or size

Your work is standard domestic if the following statements are true:

  • The property where you want the work is domestic (private residential e.g. house, flat, bungalow etc) and/or
  • You want to move the meter back to back from inside the property to the outside wall, and/or
  • You want to move the gas service pipe (the pipe between the street and my meter) and/or meter up to 20 metres from where it currently terminates, and/or
  • You want to upgrade or downgrade your service pipe (the pipe between the street and my meter) capacity as my gas use has changed, and/or 
  • You want your new gas meter position to be in the basement, on the ground floor, or on the first floor (no greater than 3m above the ground),

Your work is non-standard (requiring the pre-payment of a Quotation Charge) if your request does not apply under standard domestic criteria (above) and/or:

  • The property where you want the work is non-domestic (church, factory, office, shop, restaurant etc)
  • Any property including flats or maisonettes where the meter position will be located above the first floor or more than 3m above ground level.
  • You want to move the gas service pipe and/or meter more than 20 metres from where it currently terminates.

Producing you a quotation is subject to a non-refundable Quotation Charge You can only apply and pay online for the Quotation Charge. You will only receive a quotation for this work once you have submitted, accepted and paid for this quotation charge order.
