We hold a stock of HV Spares and Cable for National Grid’s use and we can also offer this service to our customers.

We keep more than 25,000 items of spares with a comprehensive range of extremely high voltage (EHV) components including transformers, tapchangers, cable, switchgear, protection and overhead line spares.  Many of these are no longer manufactured or are subject to long lead-times from manufacturers.

The service can be taken separately for spares or cable, or as a combined spares and cable access arrangement.

It is charged on the basis of an annual fee for access to the spares and/or cable, plus a charge for any items issued.
