What is the CUSC modification process?

Modifications to amend the CUSC are submitted to the Panel Secretary to be considered by the CUSC Modifications Panel who determine the processes and timescales to apply. The Panel decides whether a Workgroup should be set up to consider the Modification Proposal or whether it should be sent straight out to wider industry consultation.

If a Modification Proposal has been sent to a Workgroup for consideration, it will only proceed to the wider consultation phase if the Panel are satisfied that the terms of reference they set for the Workgroup have been answered.

National Grid are responsible for the preparation of a consultation paper, upon which industry members are invited to submit their views, representations and objections.

Upon completion of the consultation, a Modification Report is prepared by National Grid and furnished to the Authority for their decision. The Modification Report is also copied to relevant parties and published on the National Grid CUSC Website.
