Fiona has been a CUSC Panel Member since 2009 and has worked in the energy industry for over 20 years, having joined British Gas in 1987. As a chartered engineer she has undertaken a wide variety of roles throughout the power value chain, ranging from supply and consumer facing operations through to her current role in generation and transmission. In particular, she was instrumental in facilitating British Gas’ market entry into electricity and fulfilled a number of roles in the industry, working on regulatory and market arrangements associated with the 1998 market liberalisation programme.
In addition to her current CUSC Panel duties, Fiona is currently responsible for the regulatory and commercial arrangements associated with electricity transmission and connections for Centrica. In particular, she is responsible for the application and development of both the Connection and Use of System Code and Balancing and Settlement Code. Fiona participates in various industry working groups and is engaged in a broad range of areas including NETS Security and Quality of Supply Standard; Ofgem’s RIIO-T1 Price Control; Project TransmiT; Smart Grids; European interconnection and network codes; and the Electricity Network Strategy Working Group looking at transmission investment. She also attends a number grid related committees within AEP, Renewable UK and EFET.
